Vikram Bhatt: It's very difficult to shake out tags in this industry
Director Vikram Bhatt feels there is much more to Emraan Hashmi than kissing and romancing.
Talking about his hero of Mr X, Vikram says, he may not have kissed in this film the way he’s kissed and romanced in his other films, “but that is not the focus of the film”. “I think Emraan is at his naughtiest in Mr X though in a different way,” says Vikram.
The director continues, “Now everybody kisses. People have made him kiss but he is a much better actor. It is just a tag and it is difficult in this industry to shake out tags. Like for instance, I have the horror film tag. So when I make a fun filled entertainer, people think there will be a ghost in the film.”

Vikram further says,"It is very important for a certain kind of death for a rebirth. Rebirth doesn’t happen otherwise. And that is very similar to what Emraan’s character goes through in the film. I think a certain Emraan in this past one year has died and a more sensitive, a more evolved Emraan has come into being. That will show in the choice of his films now. He understands he is not a college going guy anymore, he has moved up to another generation. He realises that a younger generation has come up. I would call this the rise of the phoenix.”
