A seven-month pregnant woman was strangulated to death with a mobile phone charger cable allegedly by her husband at Jeedimetla on Sunday morning.

The victim, Ghousia Begum, 20, was married to Mohd Hussain, 25, a tailor, two years ago. The couple lived in Prakasham Pantulunagar in Jeedimetla.

On Sunday morning, the woman was found dead in her two-room tenement by her relatives. “Her family member told us that Hussain suspected her fidelity and often picked up quarrels with her over the issue,” Inspector Jeedimetla, A Chandrasekhar, said. The police found a cable of a mobile charger around her neck.

In a separate case at Chandrayangutta, a 47-year-old woman was found murdered at a function hall on Sunday afternoon. Zakiya Begum was a labourer at MM Function Hall in Bandlaguda and stayed in the premises along with her husband, Mohd Shareef. As the man worked as a watchman at the same place, the management allotted a room on the premises to them. On Sunday, her body with head injuries was found lying in a pool of blood on the function hall premises by workers.
