Happiness is…a drawing sheet

In an artsy corner of the Happy Street, scholars of the Lucknow College of Arts and Craft were painting the green scene at the venue. As alumnus of the college Nawaz Lari painted strokes of green and yellow on his art paper, children came running to the stall. On popular demand, the on-the- spot scene painting, turned into a kids drawing competition. All papers, colours, paints, and brushes, were then taken over by happy kids, for whom it was yet another opportunity to display their artistic talents.

LUCKNOW: In an artsy corner of the Happy Street, scholars of the Lucknow College of Arts and Craft were painting the green scene at the venue.
“Children who come here are so full of energy, the moment we sat down to paint for them they came and started painting on their own. It is happiness for them and the motto of happy streets, so we let them be,” shared artist Girish Tiwari.
Nawaz who had been taking inspiration from the green zone for his creative piece was more than happy to invite kids to paint with him. “Last time I had run out of paper as the kids were so many and their drawing had been impromptu. This time I have enough material for all kids to come and draw. They think it’s a competition and so have been submitting their drawings with their names written on it,” he gleamed.

I have come to Happy Streets for first time. I was attracted to the art zone. Kids have invaded the artist's territory and the way in which the artists are welcoming them all is amazing. Quite a bonding exercise!
