MANGALURU: Nallur in Karkala taluk of Udupi district recorded maximum rainfall of 47.5mm in the last 24-hours up to 8.30am on April 19. Tekkalakote hobli in Siruguppa taluk of Ballari district recorded maximum temperature of 39.8°C on April 18 at 3.45pm. Vasthare hobli in Chikkamagaluru taluk of Chikkamagaluru district recorded lowest minimum temperature of 15.9°C from 4.30am to 4.45am on April 19.

More than 90% relative humidity has been recorded in 34.2% geographical area in the state. Less than 25% of relative humidity has been recorded in 49.5% geographical area in the state. Rainfall over the state is considered as isolated since 2% of the hoblis and gram panchayats recorded rainfall of =2.5mm. Rather heavy rain was recorded in four gram panchayats, moderate rain in 30 gram panchayats, light rain in 24 gram panchayats; very light rain in 24 gram panchayats; and no rainfall in the remaining 3,676 gram panchayats across the state.
Karnataka for period from April 13 to April 19 recorded surplus rainfall of 169%. Against normal weighted average rainfall of 8mm in south-interior, north-interior, malnad and coastal parts, state recorded rainfall of 21.6mm. For 24-hours period ending 8.30am on April 19, four geographical regions received 1.6mm actual weighted average rainfall against normal weighted average rainfall of 1.2mm, a 34% surplus departure from the weighted-average normal.
