Concorde Hotel Fujairah hosts UAE Chess Championship Junior Competition 2015

Concorde Hotel Fujairah by One to One Hotels & Resorts, a luxury accommodation in the heart of the city, hosted the UAE Chess Championship competition, Junior Division which series of games took place last March 29 to April 5.

HH Sheik Dr. Mohammed Bin Saleh Sharqi graced the event’s opening and awarding ceremony along with officials of Chess Emirates and a number of members of Fujairah Chess Clubs.

Some 111 competitors packed the lounge of Concorde Hotel Fujairah, spreading through 55 tables on the first day of competition, under the categories of ages 8-10-12-14-16-18-20, representing Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Fujairah, Sharjah, Maliha, Ajman, and Al Ain.

The management of Concorde Hotel Fujairah was honored to hosts such an event that supports activity for the youth. “We are very honored to be part of a recreational activity like this especially dedicated for the young minds. We certainly believe that these young people can accomplish and achieve greater things if they will start early,” said Jerome Kandalaft, General Manager of Concorde Fujairah.

18-year - Hamdan Mrashwl of Ajman

20-year - Walid Anwar of Sharjah 

The tournament was organized by the Club of Fujairah Chess and Culture headed by Abdullah Al-Barakat in collaboration with the Chess Federation of UAE.
