NAGPUR: Three women suffered loss of cash and valuables to tricksters.
In the first incident, Baseen Uniya Mahrun, 61, a resident of Hameed Nagar, suffered a loss of Rs16,000. She had gone to a bank at Nari Road and had withdrawn 60,000. She was counting the cash when a youth took the bundle and sneaked out 16,000 under the pretext of helping her count the notes.
In another incident, three men posing as salesman made away with gold valuables worth 42,000 from Sanjeevani Rewatkar, a resident of Sakkardara. The trio pretended to sell a liquid to improve shine of gold ornaments and made away with jewellery using sleight of hand.
In the third incident, couple Manoj and his wife Ashwini Dhomne duped Godabai Yadav, 58, of her gold ornaments worth Rs6.50 lakh. The duo assured her of bringing good return for her valuables but kept the cash for themselves.
Director of company booked for fraud
Devendra Gade, director of Sahara Bahu-uddeshiya Sanstha, was booked by Pachpaoli police for allegedly duping employees of Aashi Nagar NMC zone office by manipulating in a scheme. Gade allegedly made bogus signatures of senior officers on the papers of Ramai Gharkul Scheme.
Thieves strike at Hanuman temple
Burglars struck at Sawarkar Nagar-based Hanuman temple decamping with an unspecified amount cash from the donation box. The burglars broke three locks to lay their hands on the box. A laundry shop and a snacks stall too were burgled.
