Basavaraj Jagajampi, former principal of Lingaraj College and former president Belgavi District Kannada Sahitya Parishat, on Saturday was unanimously elected as president of the ‘10th Belagavi district Kannada Sahitya Sammelana’.
The literary conference is scheduled to be held at Athani in June. However, a final date for the meet would be announced soon, said Athani MLA Laxman Savadi, Chairman of the Reception Committee of the conference. He also appealed all the taluk level units of the Parishat, Kannada organisations and writers, poets, artists and other social organisations to come forward to organise the sammelana successfully.
