Police recovers handcuffed body of thief from Nullah Lai

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Islamabad police on Sunday recovered a handcuffed dead body from Nullah Lai, Dunya News reported.

According to details, I-9 police station officials arrested the suspect Farman Ali on theft accusation last night.

The police stated that the suspect escaped from the custody and jumped in the nullah from the car.

However, Senior Superintendant Police (SSP) Mir Waiz in the morning today reached the scene accompanied by Pakistan Navy’s divers who recovered the dead body.

The relatives of the deceased and the locals protested against the incident and were of the view that police allegedly pushed him into nullah which caused his death as he was unable to swim due to being handcuffed.

SSP while taking noticing of the incident suspended Senior House Officer (SHO) I-9 police station and deputed Asjad Mehmoood instead.
