Man hangs wife for not having kids

SIALKOT - A cruel man hanged his wife to death for not conceiving children even after five years of their wedlock in village Happu Garha-Motra, Daska tehsil the other night.
According to FIR (No 251/2015) lodged by the Motra Police on the application of the slain woman’s brother Nadeem Ahmed Sheikh under sections 34 and 302 PPC, Rachna Town Ferozwala (Sheikhupura district) based Parveen Bibi was married off to village Happu Garha-Motra based Muhammad Akram Baryar some five years ago. But the couple was still childless.
Akram Baryar often tortured his wife brutally as a punishment for not giving birth to any child. The 30-year-old Parveen Bibi was a teacher at a local government school. The accused again tortured her brutally and later hanged her to death in sheer frustration for not having children.
Later, the accused made a drama by saying that unidentified accused strangulated her.
The deceased’s brother told the police that the accused used to threat to kill her in a bid to get rid of her for not bearing children.
The FIR revealed that the accused hanged her to death with the help of his brother Muhammad Afzal. The Motra Police handed over the dead body to her parents after autopsy.
When contacted, DPO Dr Shehzad Asif Khan said that the police had arrested the main accused and further investigation was underway.
