Two dead, 29 injured in road accidents

Two persons died, and 29, including seven children, were injured in three road accidents in the State on Saturday.

In an accident that took place near Burrilanka in Kadiyam mandal of East Godavari district, a truck carrying fish from Bheemavaram to Visakhapatnam overturned in the evening, killing two persons on the spot and causing severe injuries to another.

According to South Zone DSP Sravani, the truck rammed the divider and overturned when the driver lost control of the vehicle owing to a tyre burst. The driver managed to jump off the vehicle and sustained minor injuries in the process. The deceased were identified as B. Nagendra (40) and B. Sriramulu (35). Another person, Peddiraju, who is doing fish business at Bheemavaram, sustained serious injuries and was rushed to the hospital in Rajahmundry. Twenty persons suffered injuries when two RTC buses collided at B.Tandrapadu on the outskirts of Kurnool on Saturday. Drivers of the two buses belonging to Kadapa and Kurnool depot suffered injuries. One of them , identified as Dhanraj, slipped into coma. Seven children suffered minor injuries when a school bus fell by the roadside near Pellakur in Nellore district. The injured were admitted to a hospital in Srikalahasti.
