To deal with any possibility of “infighting and groupism” in the party ahead of the 2017 Assembly polls, UP BJP will be holding ‘chintan baithaks’ where the top leadership will talk to those leaders who are complaining that they are being ignored in the organisation.
In a meeting held on Saturday in Lucknow where the decision to hold ‘chintan baithaks’ was taken, the party also decided to hold the next state executive committee meeting in Meerut next month.
In March earlier this year, the BJP had held a two-day-long state-level ‘chintan baithak’ in Chitrakoot where former state presidents and some other state-level office bearers who were complaining of “groupism” and being neglected within the party organisation were called upon to discuss the issue.

In a meeting of party state in-charge Om Mathur with the presidents and organisation secretaries of the eight regional units on Saturday, the state unit decided to hold chintan baithaks soon and interact with the local leaders who have been inactive since long.
It was also decided that party workers will chart a plan to ensure their participation in the Centre’s ambitious schemes — Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao and Namami Gange. BJP workers will take out padyatras in the districts to popularise these schemes through nukkad meetings and door-to-door visits.
