INDORE: All health officers and sanitation inspectors of Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) will get a smartphone for digital surveillance and monitoring of garbage disposal system.
Besides, civic body will also launch a mobile-based application to make the city clean.
District administration, in an affidavit submitted before high court on Friday, mentioned that IMC was directed to implement mobile app for garbage disposal within three weeks and provide smartphones to civic officials.

Administration has also directed IMC to carry out physical verification of the vehicles engaged for garbage transportation and survey garbage containers across city.
“IMC will increase the number of garbage containers which will be marked with a number and location. This can be monitored through mobile application,” the affidavit read.
A2Z Company, which has contract for collection and transportation of garbage, was served notice by IMC for not picking up garbage as per the contract. The company was given contract for clearing 500 tonnes of garbage daily but was not doing so, IMC alleged. IMC is planning to come up with a scheme for disposing unused building material by converting it into block tiles.
“A proposal to install a unit at Rau for converting unused building materials into block tiles will be placed before mayor-in-council for approval,” said a civic official.
