Lumia 520, 525 owners report difficulties after updating to Windows 10

Owners of the Lumia 525 and Lumia 520 are reporting difficulties in switching back to Windows Phone 8.1 after updating to the Windows 10 technical preview build. Microsoft's discussion forum indicated that the problem is wide spread and as a result the company is pausing the availability of the build for Lumia 520, Lumia 525 and Lumia 526.

A forum moderator from Microsoft said, "We are seeing some reports of failures on Lumia 520/525/526 devices when trying to roll back to Windows Phone 8.1 using the Windows Phone Recovery Tool. We are pausing build availability for these devices temporarily while we investigate the issue and work with customers who have reported problems."

If you own any of these devices and are planning to flash the Window 10 build, it is advisable that you wait for a stable build or for the final version that will be rolled out via an OTA update.

The Lumia 520 and Lumia 525 are quite popular phones in the Lumia universe and were responsible for the company's expanding share in the smartphone market. The windows 10 build was available for these phones but as the build evolves, it will become more complicated for the lower end hardware to handle all the changes.
