After the CRPF killed a 15-year-old youth in Narbal, J&K police has said that during investigation it has been established that troops deployed have acted in violation of the laid down Stand Operation Procedure. The police has also registered a case at Magam station.
Giving details about the incident, a police spokesman said that on Saturday morning in Magam area, there were reports of stone pelting on vehicles plying on Narbal-Gulmarg road.

“Police along with paramilitary police was deployed to contain the situation. The deployed forces came under heavy stone pelting. To control the situation they fired few rounds resulting in injuries to a local youth identified as Suhail Ahmad of Narbal, Magam.Unfortunately, the injured later succumbed to his injuries in the hospital.”
Regretting the killing of the youth, the spokesman added that preliminary enquiry conducted in the matter indicates that the forces deployed have acted in violation of the laid down SOP.
“Case FIR No 34/2015 under section 302,147,149,341,427 RPC has been registered in police station Magam and further action would follow.”
Meanwhile, fresh protests have erupted in Narbal and its neighborhood in which three young men sustained pellet injuries. Since morning, six people had been injured and one among them died on the way to hospital. Meanwhile, CRPF spokesman Ashish Kumar said that the matter is being investigated. “We are trying to establish who had opened fire on the protestors.”
