Priya Shinde: Reality shows can make you a celebrity overnight
From a corporate job to showbiz, Priya Shinde's journey has been quite eventful. Working with a corporate firm in Pune, Priya decided to do something different and that's when she auditioned for 'Splitsvilla 4' and went on to win it. Moving on to TV shows, Priya also did Marathi films. In town to promote her upcoming stint in 'Fear Files', Priya spoke about matters close to her heart.

Talking about numerous short stints in fiction shows like 'Geet Hui Sabse Parayi', 'CID', 'Emotional Atyachar' and 'Beintehaa', to name a few, Priya says, “I have done comedy, drama, horror both positive and negative roles. Having done shorter stints, it is of course not easy to show your talent to the audience. You need to be at least the parallel lead for a proper launch. But lead characters have to shoot round-the-clock and have no personal life. I cannot take hectic shoot schedules due to my health issues. I feel if you cannot give hundred per cent to something, you should not do it. So I am happy with what I am doing."
Talking about 'Splitsvilla', Priya says, “Before auditioning for it, I never liked the show. I come from a family of great educational background my mom is a principal. I never abused or shouted on the show. I played my cards smartly and I won! The advantage of doing such a show is that you become a celebrity overnight. The disadvantage is that it creates a lot of problems when you are looking at getting married or a relationship. People have this misconception that such girls are very bold and brat. I too had a couple of such experiences. But I have found my better half now and am getting married next month! He is very understanding, open-minded and is okay with me continuing to work after marriage."
Talking about other shows, she says, “I'd love to do Bigg Boss, they even offered it to me but things didn't work out because they were looking for a Splitsvilla-in type of character. Maybe if they want someone like me one day, I'd love to do it. I did two Marathi films but I want to stick to TV as I love it. I want to do a nice negative role as it gives a lot of scope to perform."
