Man found dead inside express train

THANE: A 46-year-old man was found dead in an express train at Diva station on Friday morning.
The commuter was found lifeless inside the coach of Diva-Sawantwadi Express. The train guard found the commuter lying lifeless at 6.30am and immediately informed the Diva station officials. The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival. The railway police are investigating the case and are trying to find out whether it was a natural death or murder.
Meanwhile, two train-related deaths were also reported between Mumbra and Thane station.
In the first incident, a resident of Taloja S Y Pansare fell off a running train between Mumbra and Kalwa station at 9.40am. The police claim that Pansare was travelling on the footboard due to which he lost balance and fell. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but was declared dead.
In the third incident, a 17-year-old boy was knocked down by a speeding local near police number 34/61 between Kalwa and Thane station. The victim succumbed to his injuries while on his way to the hospital. A case of accidental death has been recorded in both the cases. Further investigation are on.
