A 35-year-old labourer was killed following a drunk brawl with his co-worker at Thadambattuthazham on the outskirts of the city. The police said that Deepu, son of Mohanan, of Charuvilaveetil, Parippally, Kollam, was attacked with an iron spear on Thursday night. He succumbed to head injuries at the Government Medical College Hospital here on Friday morning.
The Chevayur police arrested Shaiju, 34, Ithikkara Vayil, Kollam. Both of them were working at a well construction unit. As many as 12 persons from Kollam worked there. All of them stayed in a room near Vengeri Urban Agriculture Wholesale Market.
