Union Bank, RCF win
Union Bank faced some tough moments before overpowering Hugh Academy 3-1 in Group ‘A’ tie to move into the quarter-finals of the 15th Remedian Open Floolit Rink hockey tournament, at Our Lady of Remedy School Kandivali.
Union Bank opened the scoring a minute in with Ashish Shirke scoring an opportunistic goal. Hugh Academy boys fought hard and equalised through Smit Devkar on the stroke of half-time, but the second half saw Union Bank add two more goals to confirm their entry in the lasteight of the competition.
In another game, Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilisers (RCF) continued their fine run as they blanked hosts Remedians SC 4-0 in Group ‘B’. In the semis, RCF will face the winners of the KT Sports Club v Ave Maria match.
