Amid the controversy over allegations of snooping on the family of Subhas Chandra Bose by the Congress governments at the Centre, Deepender Singh Hooda, party MP from Rohtak in Haryana, said on Friday that he moved a private member Bill proposing to name an Army regiment after Netaji.

“Netaji’s Indian National Army had regiments named after Gandhi, Nehru, and Maulana Azad. So, why can’t Bose be the first individual to have an army regiment named after him,” he said, talking to journalists on the sidelines of an event here.

Mr. Hooda dismissed claims of a rivalry between Netaji and Jawahawlal Nehru.
