Police investigating a sexual assault on a 13-year-old girl in Carnoustie have issued an appeal to a pair of potential witnesses.

A man and a woman are believed to have been walking westwards along Dundee Street when the girl was attacked on Sunday 12 April.

The assault took place near a garage on the street between 21:45 and 22:05.

Officers are looking for a man in his 20s, who may have been under the influence of alcohol at the time.

He is white and of slim build, and was wearing a dark coloured long sleeved top and blue jeans at the time. Officers appealed to anyone who saw the man in the Dundee street area or at local businesses that evening to come forward.
