Bid to abduct 2 girls foiled by onlookers in Madhya Pradesh's Dharmpuri

Two youths tried to abduct two minor girls from Dharmpuri town on Thursday evening but their bid was foiled by the onlookers on the road and after thrashing them, the youths were handed over to Dharmpuri police.

MHOW: Two youths tried to abduct two minor girls from Dharmpuri town on Thursday evening but their bid was foiled by the onlookers on the road and after thrashing them, the youths were handed over to Dharmpuri police. A case has been registered against the two under relevant sections of IPC and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act 2012 and they were produced in the Dharmpuri court on Friday, from where they were sent to judicial remand.

Manawar SDO (Police) Dhiraj Babbar told TOI that two real sisters aged 16 and 17 years, both working in a catering firm were going to a wedding party being held near Tarapur Nursery of Dharmpuri town in Dhar district on Thursday evening.
While they were passing through the old bridge area at about 7pm, a Maruri van stopped near the and one youth from the van came to them and offered them for lift.
When the girls refused, he caught their hands and tried to pull them into the van, on which the girls screamed.
The onlookers and passersby stopped and first thrashed the two youths who had come in the van and then handed over to the police.
On the report of the girls, the case was registered against the duo and they were arrested while their van was also seized. The accused named as Sanjay, 26 of Umarban village and Pawan Onkar, 27 of Sadar Bazar in Dharmpuri were produced in the court on Friday and the court sent them to the jail.
