‘Girish Karnad should apologise’

K.S. Eshwarappa, Leader of the Opposition in Legislative Council, has taken serious exception to the beef-eating protest staged by Jnanpith awardee and playwright Girish Karnad at Bengaluru, recently.

Mr. Eshwarappa, a BJP leader, was here on Thursday to attend a private function.

Speaking to a few presspersons, later, Mr. Eshwarappa said Mr. Karnad participated in the beef-eating protest at Bengaluru to exhibit is opposition to the ban imposed on beef in Maharashtra.

He also sought an unconditional apology from Mr. Karnad to the people of Karnataka for hurting their sentiments.

Mr. Eshwarappa condemned the MLAs and others, who were demanding that north Karnataka be made a separate State.
