£11m bank cash for white goods supplier

An £11m finance package has allowed a Greater Manchester white goods importer to buy the premises it has occupied since 2009.

G2S Ltd has received the funding from the Lloyds Bank Mid-Markets and Commercial Finance teams in Manchester. It comprises term loans, trade finance facilities to support import activity and invoice discounting facilities.

The company holds the exclusive license to produce and supply Russell Hobbs' major domestic appliances, microwaves and vacuum cleaners. Other household name brands in its portfolio include Whirlpool, LG and Numatic.

Gavin Hamer, managing director of G2S, said: "We have had a very successful few years and have invested heavily into key areas of the business along with our product and service offering.

"This investment, combined with the funding from Lloyds Bank, has created a solid platform from which to grow, and bring new, innovative offering to the UK market."

Established in 2009, G2S has doubled turnover in the last three years to £34.7m for 2014/5 as a result of investment into infrastructure, staff and technology.

The business is based on the Green Bank Business Park in Hindley Green, near Wigan. CBRE was this week appointed to manage the 294,620 sq ft business park.
