A school in Andheri made the decision to change their board from SSC to CBSE and this led to protests by both students and their parents against the management on Monday.

The Oriental Public School made this decision and asked the parents to take the students to another school. This enraged quite a few parents. They also said that the school had conducted two meetings prior to this but failed to inform the parents anything about the switch.

After the protests took place, the management of the school decided to have another meeting on April 16. Still, the parents remained apprehensive and now they plan to take legal action against the school.

The deputy director of education, BD Phadtare, said, "The school needs to give at least a year's notice, if they want to close the school or change to another board. They also have to help the parents get admission in another school. I will call the trustees and discuss the matter with them."

Mumbai Mirror also reported Javed Khan, the ex-state education minister and senior trustee of the school saying, "There were a few students studying at this school. Besides, there is a demand for foreign boards and national boards such as ICSE and CBSE. So we decided to make the change. We will help students get admission in other schools."
