An educative trip for GT Aloha students

Students of Class 8 of GT Aloha Vidhya Mandhir, Neelankarai went on a trip to the Central Institute of Brackist Water Aquaculture (CIBA) organised by the Muttukadu Experimental station of the Institute.

The trip, organised as part of the Institute’s Open Day, aimed at creating awareness among school children on how environmentally safe aquaculture was and its benefit to the nutritional food security of the public.

Students interacted with research scholars and scientists who demonstrated different activities in the field such as shrimp seed production in hatcheries and aqua feed production. Students were also taken on a trip to the beach to show how sea ranching (cultivation of marine organisms for food) was done.
