CHANDIGARH: A 50-year-old debt-ridden farmer Dhoop Singh of Kamalpur village in Kalayat sub-division of Kaithal district attempted to commit suicide by consuming some poisonous substance on Wednesday evening. He was immediately rushed to private hospital and was stated to be out of danger.
His brother Dharam Singh said that entire crop of Dhoop Singh, spread in four acres, was damaged due to untimely rain.
