It may not be a very wise thing to speak your mind when going through a bad phase in the cinema world. Acclaimed actress Suhasini found herself mired in controversy over a statement made at a recent event while talking about her husband, Mani Ratnam’s upcoming romantic flick OK Bangaram .
She felt that the movie should be reviewed only by qualified people and said that the fate of a film cannot be decided by people who do not have the necessary credentials to judge it. No sooner did she make public her thoughts, criticism was thrown in her direction from various quarters. Many on the social media too did not take her words kindly.
Some of the movie journalists had even thought of not reviewing the movie offended by her remarks. With not a big hit for almost a decade, the last thing that director Mani Ratnam would want is to rub the movie reviewers on the wrong side.
The lion to roar again
The lion is set to roar again, this time on its own title. That’s Nandamuri Balakrishna’s latest, Lion directed by debutant Satyadev, the audio of which was released recently. In his 98{+t}{+h}film, Balayya babu, as he is popular, is paired for the first time with Trisha Krishnan, while it is the second time that Radhika Apte acts with Balakrishna, after Legend .
Now there’s certainly more to this film than the usual star cast and technicians associated with it. The timing of the release date - May 1 is interesting. Balakrishna’s Legend directed by Boyapati Sreenu that was released on March 28, 2014 will reach the 400-day mark on May 2 in two theatres – ‘Mini Siva’ in Yemmiganur (Kurnool district) and ‘Archana’ in Proddatur of Kadapa district.
There is a lot of expectation from people, primarily from film buffs and Nandamuri fans in particular. What everyone is wondering about is whether the single word title starting with the letter ‘L’ will prove to be as lucky for the lead star Balakrishna for the second time.
