The event saw the who's who of the Punjabi community in attendance, who wished each other and enjoyed the cultural show together on Monday evening, which was organized by World Punjabi Organisation.
A dance group from Punjab commenced the show with bhangra and gidda. Dancing to the tunes of Aa Gayi Baisakhi and Kudi Punjab Di and other folk songs, their energetic moves set the tone for the evening.
But the star of the night was Pakistani singer Fariha Parvez, whose beautiful voice regaled everyone. She sang songs like Bulla Ki Jana Main Kaun, Main Tenu Samjhawan Ki, Dama Dam Mast Kalandar and many more. While the audience appreciated her songs, the singer also expressed her happiness about performing in India.
"She has this rustic flavour to her voice and a soothing quality in her songs," said singer Shibani Kashyap about her Pakistani counterpart. Singers Manmohan Waris and Kamal Heer also performed at the event, where they sang both folk and modern songs. On the occasion, business tycoons Lord Swraj Paul and BM Munjal were felicitated for their contribution in the field of business.
