Mollywood girl Madonna is Vijay's pair

Soodhu Kavvum director Nalan Kumarasamy has put aside Kai Neelam, the sort-of sequel to his debut film, which he was working on and has started shooting another film ' a romcom ' with Vijay Sethupathi in the lead. Madonna Sebastian, who is playing one of the female leads in Alphonse Putharen's Malayalam film Premam, has been signed on as the heroine. We hear Madonna is also a singer, and has sung in another Malayalam film, You Too Brutus.
Nalan tells us, 'I chose Madonna because I was looking out for someone with acting skills, who could project innocence on screen. She plays a city girl who is trying to get a job in the IT industry.' Vijay Sethupathi, meanwhile, will be playing the role of a councillor's assistant, and the film, which is set in Chennai, and will be a contemporary romance involving these two characters.
'It is not an out-of-the-box film like Soodhu Kavvum but a feel-good, breezy romance,' he adds. Santhosh Narayanan will be composing the music for this film, which went on floors on Wednesday, while Dinesh Krishnan is the cinematographer.
