Five of a family injured in fire due to gas leak

Five persons including three children were seriously injured when gas leaked from a cylinder giving way rise to fire. The incident took place at Chitkul village in Patancheru Mandal of Medak District in the wee hours of Thursday.

According to Patancheru Circle Inpsector A. Krishnaiah, gas leaked when Madhavi (32), wife of T. Babu Rao (35) started preparing food by lighting the gas stove. The fire broke out immediately injuring both wife and husband and their three children - Manoj (13), Lakshman (9) and Sri Ram (9). They were shifted to Gandhi Hospital in Hyderabad for treatment, said Sub-Inspector Venkatesh. Patancheru police registered a case and are investigating.
