Kachenahalli project: Revanna to hold rally

April 16, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:52 am IST - Hassan:

Janata Dal (Secular) leader H.D. Revanna has said that he will soon hold a rally at Udayapura in Channarayapatna taluk to convey ‘truth’ about his efforts to implement the Kachenahalli Lift Irrigation project, which was officially commissioned by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Monday.

Speaking to presspersons on Tuesday, Mr. Revanna alleged that Congress leaders had brought workers from other constituencies to stop him from addressing the programme. During the programme on Monday, people had raised their hands and shouted slogans urging that he should not speak.

Mr. Revanna maintained that the local people of Udayapura were aware of his efforts to get the work approved by the State government in 2007.

He alleged that the district administration flouted protocol in the programme. “Pictures of G. Puttaswamy Gowda and H.C. Srikanthaiah, who were not connected to the project, were displayed prominently on the dais while those of H.D. Deve Gowda and mine were covered,” he said.
