On day one, mobike ambulance reached spot in just eight minutes

BENGALURU: An emergency healthcare service claimed to be Asia’s first mobike ambulance launched in Bengaluru, reached an accident spot with eight of the occurrence on Wednesday.
The government run service that was launched on Wednesday was first used for an accident near K R Puram in east Bengaluru. The service helped a 30 year old labourer from Orissa who was crossing a road and hit by a motor bike.
“The call was made at 7.33 pm. The mobike ambulance stationed at KR Puram was asked to rush to the spot at 7.39 pm. The vehicle reached the accident spot at 7.41 pm. First aid was done. The injured was taken to a nearby hospital by autorickshaw, before the four wheeler ambulance reached the spot. It was a swift action,” health minister U T Khader told TOI. A pedestrian hit by a motor bike.
The four wheeler ambulance of GVK EMRI was arriving to the spot from Banasawadi, but as the accident victim was stable, he preferred to take an autorikshaw after the first aid was given by para medical staff who rode reached the spot reading the mobike ambulance. There are 21 mobike ambulances launched in Bengaluru. There are 40 pilots who are trained in both safe, speedy riding as well in para medics, and emergency medicine. For the time being the service will be made available for 12 hours, from 8-9 am to 8-9 pm. The total project cost is Rs 70 lakhs and each bike costs Rs 2 lakh.
The new facility is largely to be used in case of road accidents. On Wednesday, the mobike ambulances were stationed in Jigani industrial area, Banashankari bus stand, Katriguppe police station, Mysore bank circle, Majestic, Manyata tech park, Queen’s circle, Mayo Hall, Tannery road, NICE junction, Kanakapura road, Madiwala police station, K R Puram, Gali Ajaneya temple, Sumanahalli junction, Yeshwanthpura signal, Begur police station, Hebbagodi police station.
