Metta World Peace's Fil-Am son joins DLSU practice, open to play for Batang Gilas

Jeron Artest, a son of former NBA player Metta World Peace, practiced with the De La Salle Green Archers squad earlier this week.

According to a report by the The LaSallian, the school's official student publication, the 14-year-old Filipino-American visited the Green Archers practice facility this past Monday.

The teenager is on his first visit to the country with his mother Jennifer Palma, World Peace's high school girlfriend.

"During the practice session, Artest amazed observers with his decision making and quickness. Playing as both a point and shooting guard, he displayed an excellent mid-range game, coupled with nifty dribbling skills that could leave defenders flat on their feet," the LaSallian wrote.

His mother is reportedly working on securing dual citizenship, which would allow him to play for the Philippine national team in the future. He has expressed openness to play for the Batang Gilas youth squad.

Already, Artest is turning heads online, with his own website featuring highlights of his basketball exploits.
