Whyalla scores high in RAA regional fuel ratings
Whyalla fuel retailers have been singled out for praise in the latest RAA regional fuel ratings.
The South Australian city has jumped from 12th spot in January to top spot, with the RAA saying it has some of the cheapest petrol in Australia.
Senior analyst Chris West said prices in Whyalla were cheaper than Adelaide for most of March.
"The month of March has seen great improvement I suppose for country prices," he said.
"We actually rated many towns as either fair, and we even had a very fair with Whyalla scoring 4.4 out of five, so some very good scores.
"On the other hand we still have Coober Pedy at the bottom of the list at 1.7, which unfortunately is a poor rating.
"So there is a fair bit of variety around at the moment but as a whole petrol prices and diesel prices have improved."
