MOTIHARI: Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee president Ashok Choudhary on Tuesday dared the BJP national leadership fight the coming assembly election in Bihar under the leadership of a dalit politician of the party if it has love for dalits in true sense.
Criticising the BJP which organized a workers’ conference in Patna to mark the dalit icon Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar’s birthday on Tuesday, the state Congress chief said such events are nothing but a bid to attract dalit voters.

“Why the BJP has suddenly started showering so much of affection on dalits and the poor even while doing everything to benefit corporate houses?” he asked and attributed the BJP’s new-found love for dalits to the proposed grand alliance of the ‘Janata Pariwar’ parties.
Choudhary, who was addressing a public gathering at Areraj in East Champaran district during his padyatra from Patna to Vrindavan in West Champaran, also criticized the central government for its anti-farmer and anti-poor policies.
The Congress will continue this agitation against the Modi government until it recalls its black Land acquisition ordinance, he said and alleged the withdrawal of scheme under which free medicines were being distributed among the poor, was a pointer to the Modi government’s anti-poor attitude.
