The Thane Rural police have formed seven teams to investigate the murder of the Andheri resident who was shot dead outside a Mira Road bar on Monday night. Police suspect that it may have been a contract killing by elements of the underworld.

The Thane Rural police have formed seven teams to investigate the murder of the Andheri resident who was shot dead outside a Mira Road bar on Monday night. Police suspect that it may have been a contract killing by elements of the underworld.
“We are investigating the case from all angles. We even suspect that there is an underworld link in this incident. We have taken the statements of the family members and friends who were present during the incident,” said a Mira Road police official.
Property dealer Vijay Pradhan alias Bunty was shot on the forehead by unknown assailants outside Pushpak bar in Mira Road. His friend Sachin Vijaykar sustained gunshot wounds and has been shifted to KEM hospital from Thunga hospital.
“We have certain leads in the case. We are coordinating with the Mumbai police about the murder. Further, we have formed seven teams to investigate the case,” said Rajesh Pradhan, Superintendent of Police, Thane Rural.
