The city police have arrested three people on Monday night for attempting to murder an accountant at the MGR Market in Saibaba Colony in the city.

COIMBATORE: The city police have arrested three people on Monday night for attempting to murder an accountant at the MGR Market in Saibaba Colony in the city.
The arrested people were identified as V Balamurugan, 23, S Muthuramalingam, 27 and P Senthil, 30, all hailing from Kavundampalayam. Their native is Ramanthapuram district. Police said, the trio was working as load men at MGR vegetable market in Saibaba Colony.
The injured person has been identified as R Rampandi, 34 from Kumarasamy colony in Kavundmapalayam.
Police said Rampandi was working as an accountant in a vegetable commission shop at MGR Market. A year ago, Balamurugan was working at the shop. However, the shop owner fired him after he found that he had fabricated some details in the account books.
Balamurugan blamed Rampandi for losing his job. This created a rift between them. On Monday night, Balamurugan and two of his accomplices assaulted Rampandi and stabbed him on his neck and abdomen. He was rushed to a private hospital where doctors attending to him told police that his health condition was stable.
Saibaba Colony police registered a case under section 307 (attempt to murder) of the IPC and arrested the three people.
