Bengal: Schoolgirl gangraped, monk held for sodomising minor

A minor girl was allegedly gangraped and then left for dead on the banks of the Teesta river in Jalpaiguri, West Bengal. She was found unconscious on Tuesday.

The girl was returning from school when a group of men kidnapped and raped her. The four men have been arrested. The girl will undergo a medical test soon.

Meanwhile, the head of a well-known math in Jalpaiguri was arrested on Monday for allegedly sodomising a minor. The 15-year-old boy, a resident of the math, is now in the custody of Childline.

Police sources said not only the monk but two other senior residents were also sodomising him for the last two years. He finally ran away and was found by some policemen.
