A private van carrying school students overturned between Pudukudi and Agalanganallur near Lalgudi on Monday morning causing injuries to students.
The vehicle picked up students from Agalanganallur and was proceeding towards the private school at Poovalur when the accident occurred.
Police sources said the van driver tried to give way to a tractor that came in the opposite direction when the van suddenly overturned. There were 17 students and a woman assistant on board the vehicle at the time of the accident. Four of the students were referred to the Tiruchi Government Hospital for treatment, and the remaining were treated as outpatient at Lalgudi Government Hospital.
