A housewife, Pavani, 23, of Gunrock Enclave in Secunderabad, allegedly committed suicide by jumping into Hussainsagar lake on Monday while her husband, who also tried to end his life, was rescued by the Lake police.
The woman was married to Sravan, 24, who does a private job.
The family members told the police that the couple were facing financial problems for the last few months.
While Pavani died, Sravan was saved.
The police shifted him to Gandhi Hospital while his wife’s body was shifted to Gandhi Hospital mortuary.
