Sudeep on being the Most Desirable Man 2014

Kiccha tops the chart again
Sudeep on being the Most Desirable Man 2014
Kannada star Sudeep is back on top as the Bangalore Times Most Desirable Man 2014, after losing out to actor Yash last year. The votes received online on www.itimes.com/polls, along with our vote, decided the winners. Bangalore Times speaks to Sudeep…
How does it feel to be voted the most desirable man of 2014 again?
To be voted to the top twice in three years is a great feeling. Of course, I believe one can’t expect to get there every single year, especially since there are so many people who are doing interesting work, which, in turn, ups their desirability quotient.
What do you think makes you desirable?
Desirability is a combination of various aspects of a person.
It is not about doing things to impress people. Instead, it is about being oneself and being comfortable in doing so. I don’t think anyone who has voted would be able to point out and say this is the one thing that makes him desirable. I feel it is a longer process, whereby people see your work and the way you present yourself over years and, therefore, begin to like you.

Do you have more male or female admirers?
It’s difficult to say, but from what I have seen at public events or on social media, I would like to believe that I have equal number of male and female admirers. The whole intention of being an actor is to have as many admirers as possible. The idea is to ensure that the numbers keep growing with the work you do. While I feel good when I sense that there has been an increase, I don’t think it makes sense for me to stop somewhere to start counting.
Who do you think is your competition?
As long as you are doing your job right, you are bound to stay on track. It is not about competing, because I don’t think there is any profession in which only one person stays on top all the time. There are many people, and a few will make a mark. If you are one of them, you need to continue to be on your toes. Being on top is the result of others’ opinions. You may be there one day, and lose it the next. But for me, it is about focus on work. It is about going further and winning more hearts with the kind of work I do.
