“Not an end

but a beginning”

The 43rd Graduation Day of The Standard Fireworks Rajaratnam College for Women, Sivakasi, was held on March 27. A.E. Muthunayagam, Advisor, Noorul Islam Centre for Higher Education, who distributed degree certificates to 989 graduates, postgraduates and M. Phil. scholars, highlighted in his address that getting a degree did not mean the end of a journey but the beginning of the path to seek knowledge. He advised the graduates to apply their knowledge for the wellbeing of people. D. Sasireka, Principal, welcomed the gathering.

Lighting ceremony

Madurai Sivakasi Nadars’ Pioneer Meenakshi Women’s College, Poovanthi, conducted the lighting ceremony on April 2. Rameswari Annamalai presided over the programme. C. Ramalakshmi, Principal, addressed the gathering. M. Poun Rose, college union president, spoke on behalf of the final-year students.

“Students must

have vision”

The 14th Annual Day of K.L.N. College of Information Technology, Pottapalayam, was held on March 28. Cynthia Nimija, Product Head, Tata Consultancy Services, in her address, spoke of the job market as being highly competitive and advised the students to have a vision and work towards achieving it. K. N. K. Ganesh, correspondent, welcomed the gathering. K. N. K. Karthik, president, delivered the presidential address. J.S. Gnanasekaran, Principal, presented the annual report. Students and staff members were honoured with prizes and awards for their achievements in academics and sports. Thirty Anna University rank holders were also honoured on the occasion. S.R. Prem Kumar, treasurer, proposed a vote of thanks.

Graduation Day

Rev. Jacob Memorial Christian College, Ambilikkai, organised its 15th Graduation Day on March 28. M. Thirumalai, former Vice-Chancellor, Tamil University, delivered the address and distributed degree certificates to 80 candidates.

Dr. Thirumalai said that education was not related to books alone but it helped young people, to improve their personality and transform as good citizens. Principal B. Jothikumar welcomed the gathering. College secretary Nirmala Jeyaraj presided over the graduation ceremony. She distributed prizes and certificates to university rank holders.

220 get degree certificates

Sree Sowdambika College of Engineering, Aruppukottai, conducted its 11th Graduation Day on March 29 in which R. Perumalsamy, Vice-Chancellor, Noorul Islam University, addressed the graduates. Dr. Perumalsamy and T. R. Varatharajan, Managing Director, Shri Govindaraja Mills, distributed degree certificates to 220 graduates and medals to toppers. B. Ravibabu, secretary, presided over the function.

Students urged

to work hard

College Day and Founder’s Day was celebrated by V.V. Vanniaperumal College for Women in Virudhunagar on March 28. S.K.P.P.V.B. Arumugam, secretary, welcomed the gathering. V.V.V.A. Ashokan Chakravarthy, patron, in his Founder’s Day message, insisted that the value of human life should be recognised and life should be lived with great honour. P. Selvameenakshi, Principal, presented the annual report. S. Munusamy, District Revenue Officer, the chief guest, in his address, encouraged the students to work hard to realise their ambitions.

The celebration ended with a cultural programme presented by students.

Annual Day

Madurai East Panchayat Union Middle School at Chinnamangulam celebrated its Annual Day with cultural programmes presented by the students.

Panchayat presidents Allirani Azhagappan (Chinnamangulam) and S. Paramasivam (Othakadai), Assistant Elementary Educational Officer S. Kennedy and other officials of the Education Department, including A. Azhagu Meena and K. Jayanthi, and elders from the village felicitated them.
