3,000 cyclists happily hold sway

It was four hours of fun and excitement on the roads around Allalasandra Lake, Yelahanka New Town, as 3,000 cyclists pedalled away on Sunday morning to mark Cycle Day, supported by The Times of India.

It was four hours of fun and excitement on the roads around Allalasandra Lake, Yelahanka New Town, as 3,000 cyclists pedalled away on Sunday morning to mark Cycle Day, supported by The Times of India.
They open-streets event was conducted by the Bengaluru Coalition of Open Streets (BCOS) in partnership with Yelahanka United Environ ment Association (YUVA), and Bangalore police (traffic and law & order) and BBMP.

At least 6.5km of roads in the area were paved for the cyclists activities aplenty: Games and other activities added more zing to the event.Participants played chowka bhara, kunte bille, lagori, marbles, snakes and ladders, top spinning, passing the ball, chess, gully cricket, badminton, blindfold and hit the target, balloon blast, and there were performances by Dollu Kunitha and Kamsale troupes.
