Jat Sabha felicitates elected representatives

JAMMU, Apr 12: Jat Sabha today organized a function at RS Pura to felicitate newly elected representatives of both Upper as well as Lower House belonging to the community.
The public representatives who were felicitated include two elected MLAs and one MLC from the community which include Ch Sukhnandan, Minister for PHE, Flood Control and Irrigation, Ch Sham Lal Legislator, Suchetgarh and Ch Surinder, Member Legislative Council.
The function was organized under the chairmanship of Ch Pyara Singh, former legislator. Tarlok Singh Bajwa, former Rajya Sabha Member, former Ministers, Manjit Singh and Ch Garu Ram, and Bhupinder Singh (retired SSP) were also present.
Speaking on the occasion speakers urged upon the elected representatives to fight tooth and nail to safeguard the rights of the Jat community. They also laid stress on better education to the younger generation particularly the girl child.
Ch Pyara Singh speaking on the occasion appealed these elected members to take up the matter of unemployment of border youth with the chief minister and demanded special recruitment drive for this area whereas other speakers urged them to fight for inclusion of Jat community into OBC category as being peasants, the community is under privileged.
They further demanded compensation to the farmers on the pattern of Delhi where Government has given a compensation of Rs 2500 per kanal to farmers for crop damage due to rains that lashed in entire north region of the country.
The elected representatives extended full support to the members of the community across State.
