The household articles of P.R. Parvathi were damaged following fire in Maroli on Saturday night.

The Fire and Emergency Services personnel said that the fire broke out following a short circuit in the power inverter around 1 a.m.

The fire spread quickly in the house and damaged most of the articles in it.

The Fire and Emergency Services personnel could not reach the house as it was located in a narrow lane.

According to eyewitness accounts, Parvathi and her son managed to come out of the house along with some important documents and took shelter in a neighbour’s house.

Local residents managed to put out the fire.

Revenue Authorities visited the spot to assess the extent of damage.

The Ullal police raided an alleged illegal abattoir functioning in Chemmbugudde and seized a few cows that were to set to be slaughtered on Sunday.

They also seized meat that had been stocked at the establishment.

The same house had been raided in November.

The police are on the lookout for four persons, including the two persons who owned the premises from which the abattoir was functioning.
