MoS nod to Sakshi Maharaj request, Unnao religious places to turn touristic

At present, Badraka houses a statue of Azad and a meeting hall that serve as memorials in the village. The tourism ministry also plans to erect plaques containing information on Azad’s life and his sacrifice for the nation.

Sharma also visited Janki Kund in the district and similarly announced to develop the religious place as a tourism destination at a cost of Rs 2.90 crore. Along with revitalisation of the Kund, approach roads, parks and other civic amenities will be developed with focus also on improving the electrification work.

Janki Kund is known as the birth place of Lav and Kush, sons of lord Rama. The minister announced similar developmental works for Jaleshwar Nath Temple in Mohaan area in the outskirts of Lucknow.

Sharma’s visit came on the invitation of BJP’s Unnao MP, Sakshi Maharaj, who had requested the Union minister to develop religious places of Unnao Lok Sabha constituency and Badraka as tourist places.

Addressing the media persons at PWD Guest House in Unnao, Sharma said that the Narendra Modi government was committed towards promoting tourism in the country. BJP state secretary Virendra Tiwari and other party leaders had accompanied the minister during his visit.
