Malegaon: Former Maharashtra minister and senior Congress leader Baliram Waman Hiray passed away following a heart attack, his family members said on Sunday.
Hiray breathed his last at a private hospital in Thane yesterday.
He was 84.
He is survived by wife, son and a daughter.
The leader was cremated with full state honours this afternoon at Golibar Maidan in Malegaon.
Hiray, who had joined Congress in 1962, was elected as MLA from then Dabhadi assembly constituency in 1972 and was state's Education Minister in 1978. He was also the Energy Minister.
