Poet and writer Makineedi Surya Bhaskar spoke in detail about Telugu novel ‘Swetcha’ penned by Volga at the monthly literary meet conducted by Gandhi Bhavan’s Readers Forum here on Saturday. Stating that the novel discussed at length about the problems faced by the middleclass women three decades ago, he observed that the novel failed to look into the struggles of the women from poor financial background.

Though many of the issues are not relevant to the present day’s society, the novel remained a milestone in feministic literature in Telugu,” Mr. Surya Bhaskar said. Poet and writer V. Hanumantha Rao presided over the session, in which P. Sitarama Raju spoke about ‘Veta Kathalu.’ Poet Addepalli Rammohana Rao.
