Three undergraduate students from different colleges were feared drowned in Yamuna River on Saturday afternoon.

YAMUNANAGAR: Three undergraduate students from different colleges were feared drowned in Yamuna River on Saturday afternoon. The incident took place on the Yamuna ghat in the town where they had gone for recreation.
"One student went into the river and lost balance following which two others rushed to his help, but trio drowned in the river," two other students, who accompanied the victims, said.
Despite hours-long rescue operation, the youths remained untraced. The operation was on till the filing of this report on late Saturday evening.
The youths who got washed in the river have been identified as Gourav and Ajay, both students of MLN College, and Sachin, a student of Khalsa College, Yamunanagar. All were aged 18-19 years and studying in BCom first year.
"Rescue operation is on. We are trying our best to trace them at the earliest," said S S Phoolia, deputy commissioner, Yamunanagar.
