LPG tanker overturns at Nuvem

Margao: An LPG tanker overturned near the Tata showroom at the Nuvem bypass junction on Saturday afternoon. Sources said that locals quickly rescued the tanker driver, 38-year-old G Sashikumar, a Karnataka native, who lost control of the vehicle while negotiating a sharp turn. He sustained minor injuries. Nobody else was injured in the accident that occurred at 1.48pm.
Maina-Curtorim police rushed to the spot and nabbed the driver who has been now detained for questioning, said PI Harish Madkaikar. Fire services officials too visited the site and undertook evacuation measures as there was leakage reported. Four fire tender trucks were dispatched to the spot. tnn
